Masculine Get Well

Well, tomorrow's the big day! I am excited. Needless to say, I won't have any posts until at least the evening of 4 July, maybe even the 5th.

Tonights card is one that I cased from SCS, however, I have lost the link. I tried to paste it, and something happened. Here's the details:

Stamps: Lovely as a Tree, Sincere Salutations
Paper: Beige, Old Olive, Chocolate Chip
Ink: Chocolate Chip
Misc: Stampin' Pastels, ribbon, Sizzix texture plates, Big Shot, daubers

Have a great 4th of July!

Happy Stamping!

Flowers Galore

Happy Wednesday! One more day & a wake up, then we're off to Alaska. I can hardly wait!!! I packed Winnie suitcase tonight (yes, she has her own cute little suit case!). She started getting all excited. I think she thinks she's going to the Greenbrier again. (That's her favorite get away, or at least it was until they turned it into a casino!) Now, don't get me wrong, there's absolutely nothing wrong with casinos, I'll even go to the one on the ship a time or two. However, IMO, the stately Greenbrier, with all of it's regal elegance, & casino don't mix. Enough of my soap box. (I'm just glad we didn't buy property there for a vacation home as we were thinking about doing earlier in the year!)

Anyway, the card tonight uses the new "In Colors" and an idea from the Spring '09 Idea book.

Stamps: Blooming with Love, Sincere Salutations
Ink: Basic Grey, Chocolate Chip
Paper: Melon Mambo, Razzleberry Lemonade DSP, Pretty in Pink, White
Misc: flowers, SU rhinestone brad, keytag punch, SU Markers

This card was really fun, I'm going to have to repeat it with Prismas and baby oil.

Have a great evening.

Happy Stamping!

Purple Thank You

Happy Monday! Wow, only 3 days and a wake up, then DH, dear MIL & I will all be on our way to Alaska. I am soooooooooooooooooooooo excited! If you've never been, it's some place that you need to put on your "to visit" list! Especially if you love animal and nature. To say it is awe inspiring is a definite understatement. I can't wait to go whale watching. One of my very favorite things to see. Plus we should see sea otters; they are simply adorable! They are so curious and playful. And as they age, just like us humans, they turn grey. So you can tell who are the youngsters & who are the old guys.
Winnie is going to be staying with Maisie, and we are just praying that she is on her best behavior. Maisie has stayed with us a couple of times, and they have had play dates, but we've never left her. We normally get an au pair for Winnie & Geordi, but she couldn't make it this time. Keep your fingers crossed for us.
Todays card is from one of my favorite stamp sets; Bloomin' Beautiful. I love every stamp in the collection, although I haven't used all of them. Here's all the details:
Stamps: Bloomin' Beautiful, Oval All
Ink: Almost Amethyst, Black Staz-On
Paper: Tea Party DSP, white, Almost Amethyst, Kiwi Kiss
Misc: Prismas, blending stumps, baby oil, SU lg oval punch, SU scallop oval punch, Fiskars border punch, ribbon from Michaels (I love the colors in the ribbon but hate it because it has nylon or something in it, so it doesn't adhere very well!)
I have more cards ready to post for the rest of the week, so check back often.
Have a wonderful evening.
Happy Stamping!

MMSC6--not my favorite card

Here's a card I did for the MMSC6 sketch challenge. I really don't like this card, and on top of everything else it loaded "backwards"! ie the flower should be on the left (which IRL it is). Gee, I think it's time to close up shop tonight! LOL

Here's the details:

Stamps: Oval All, Looks Like Spring
Ink: Pacific Point, Kiwi Kiss
Paper: Good Morning Sunshine DSP, Summer Sun, whit, Kiwi Kiss, Pacific Point
Misc: ribbon, lg oval punch, scallop oval punch, flowers, brads, pop dots

More tomorrow, and I promise the card will be prettier.

Bright Birthday

Bright certainly is a good description for this birthday carfd. When I sat down to stamp on Sunday afternoon, I just pulled out 2 colors of paper and made myself create with those 2 colors. I think I might try that again. I got to make some more cards to post. I hope to do that tomorrow, using some of the new In Colors by SU.

Not a lot going on here. It rained again today, and we're suppose to have storms tomorrow & Friday. I know all of you are tired of hearing me complain about all the rain, but imagine what it's like here! UGH.

Here's the info on the card:

Paper: Tangerine Tango, Appricot Appeal & White

Ink: Kiwi Kiss, Tangerine Tango, Appricot Appeal

Misc: Blender pen, 3 flower punch, corner punch, ribbon, brads & Fiskars border punch

Beautiful Birdie Birthday

Happy Tuesday everyone! I hope everyone is having a great week. My DH's award ceremony was today. It was very nice and we were both very honored at all the people who showed up for it. One of his gifts was a flag that was flown over both the Capitol and the Pentagon. It was very nice.

I think I like this card. I can see it used for several different occasions, thank you, birthday, get well, maybe even sympathy. I like making tri-fold cards, and I don't know why I decided to put the squares on opposite sides of the fold, but I like it. (As seen in the bottom picture) Here's the details:

Stamps: See with the Heart, Fresh Fillers
Ink: Close to Cocoa, Garden Green & Purely Pomegranite
Paper: Purely Pomegranite, Pink Pirouette & White
Misc: Prismas, blending stumps, baby oil & pearls from the SU Pretties Kit

I've got to start making my lists to get ready to go to Alaska. I have to make the list of everything we will need for Winnie to take to Maisie's house, and my packing list, and everything I will have to do around the house before we can leave, and ensure that we make a note for the cat sitter, etc etc etc.

Guess that's it for tonight. I'll try to post again tomorrow.

A Summer Soft Thank You

This was a fun card that I made last weekend. I'm not sure I like the Bella Rose DSP background, but I love the stamp set. I need to work with it some more.
I wasn't sure that when I got home from work today that Winifred wasn't going to be on the garbage pile!!! She irritated her daddy all day. First, she wouldn't stop harrassing her brother, Geordi, the cat. She loves to grab onto his ear or the side of his face and try to drag him all over the house. Of course she can't, since she weights 10.2 lbs & he weights 22.5 lbs. But it doesn't keep her from trying. Then, a company called Damon to try to set up a job interview. Well, Winnie hates the phone ringing, and she wouldn't stop barking the entire time he was on the phone. Therefore, that's why I wasn't sure she wasn't going to be put on the curb this evening with the garbage.
Anyway, back to stamping. Here's the deets on the card:
Stamps: Summer Soft
Paper: Bella Rose DSP, Pink Pirouette, Kiwi Kiss & White
Ink: Pink Pirouette
Markers: Pixie Pink & Always Artichoke
Misc: flowers
I got my SU order that I put in on 1 June. The new catalog is OK, but the new in colors are wonderful! There's not a lot of new accessories, except for some Sizzix stuff. They do have a new butterfly punch that I really want. I'll try to get a card or 2 made with the new colors so that you can see some of them.
Happy Stamping!

Fishy Birthday

I'm still having a creative idea block. Been looking at various web sites, magazine, blogs, but still can't get my mojo going. So, I have been trying some quick cards, but to make them more"interesting" I'm using different card folding techniques. Let me know what you think.
This one is monochromatic, and very quick. No coloring, painting etc.
Stamps: Nature Prints & Fresh Fillers & unknow sentiments
Ink: Kiwi Kiss
Paper: Bella Rose DSP, Kiwi Kiss & White
The third layer behind the fish is white sponged with kiwi kiss. The 2nd layer is the Bella Rose DSP.

Sorry I haven't been around for a few days. I just haven't really been feeling well. I don't know what's going on. I'm just exhausted, and have a headache almost constantly. It may be the high humidity and heat. I really just slept most of the weekend. Maybe next week will be better. I made 3 cards today, and still have one left from last week to share with you.

Oh, Diane, the stamp set from my prior post "Scene in a Garden" was from the mini catalog that is good only until 31 June, so make sure you talk to your SU Demonstrator if you need th mini.

I hope everyone has a wonderful week. Hopefully Winnie & I will post again tomorrow.

We leave for our Alaskan cruise 2 weeks from this Friday. I'm getting soooooooooooo excited! It is going to be so much fun! We're going to Juneau, sail by Hubard glacier, Kethikan & Vancouver Washington. We're going to go to the butterfly farm in Vancouver. DH & I really love butterflies.

Have a wonderful evening.

Happy Monday!!! It's been 24 hours without any rain! YEAH!!!! I think I've sprouted feathers and now have webbed feet. However, it's been VERY humid today, but I'm trying not to complain since the sun is shining. However, I hate my frizzy hair!

Seashell Birthday

Good evening everyone! Sorry that I didn't get to post last night, but DH & I went to a reception at the Animal Welfare League of Alexandria. The reception was very nice. We got a tour of the facility, and that was very interesting. They had a bunny rabbit that was the funniest thing. He was in a playpen like enclosure, and they had put an box in with him/her. He kept jumping up on top, and jumping back off. They had also placed a straw hat in with him, and he took it & put it over his water bowl. He was soooooo cute!!!!!! They really have a very nice facility, and do such good work for the animals. They work very hard to get all the animals well adjusted before they are put up for adoption.

The card tonight is another one that I had problmes with. I don't know why I've had such a creativity block lately! Let me know what you think.

Stamps: Stipple Shells
Paper: Ballet Blue, Basic Grey & Whisper White
Ink: Ballet Blue
Misc: ribbon (unknown source), key tag punch, linen thread

Have a great weekend.

Happy Birthday Cards for June

Sorry I didn't post yesterday, but I've had a horrible sinus infection. I finally went to the doctor yesterday. I had to work yesterday & today, because I had an apointment that I couldn't reschedule. But I am starting to feel a little better. Those little "cough pearl" pills the doctor gave me really work well.

Well, yesterday was my DHs first official day of retirement, and guess what he did: He rearranged both of my clothes closet AND my craft room!!!!!!!!!! I felt so poorly I didn't even get upset. Can you believe it? And yes, he is still alive. LOL He thinks his organizational skills are better than mine. I do hate to admit it, but he moved all of my shoes (100+ pair) to a different closet and stacked them on shelved, rather than on top of one another. (I keep my shoes in the boxes). I really can see them better now, so I guess it's not all bad.

The first picture tonight is of Geordi, our 22.5 lb kitty. He has no teeth (except those teeny tiny ones right in the front). He is only 8, but he has always had dental problems. I even had to take him to a kitty dental specialist to have his top K-9s removed!) Anyway, the picture is him taking his early morning sun bath. He travels around the house as the sun moves. He was a very unhappy kitty when we had all the rain a few weeks ago. All he does all day, every day, is take a sun bath. He is so funny!

The card today is one that I'm using for my male clients this month. I love making tri-fold cards, and haven't made them in a little while. I had a hard time coming up with a masculine card. I'll post another one tomorrow, but I'm not real excited about either one of them. Any suggestions will be appreciated for improvements.

Stamps: Various unknow stamps
Paper: Pacific Point, Riding Hood Red, Baja Breeze & Whisper White
Ink: Pacific Point
Misc: Pop dots, key tag punch

The unmounting of my stamps is going well. I really do like the unmounted stamps. Of course they're not as easy as clear acrylic stamps, but are much better than trying to "guess" with the wood mounted ones. It's still taking a very long time, but I have a new rule: if I'm going to use a stamp set I have to unmount it first. That way, I can still get stamping in, but am moving forward with the unmounting process.

Guess that's all for tonight. I hope everyone is doing well.

Happy Stamping!
