This is such a hoot

I just think this stamp is such a hoot!!!! It makes me laugh every time I see it. It's from House Mouse and is called "you snooze you loose". I love bunnies, and these "happy hoppers" are the cutest! The card is made for the color challenge over on SCS to use barely banana, dusty durango & grey.

Stamps: HM You Snooze You Loose
Paper: Whisper White, Barely Banana, Dusty Durango, Basic Grey
Ink: Basic Grey & Dusty Durango
Misc: Prismas & baby oil, SU label punch

Allanna (aka Bean Unit) & Justin are on their way up here tonight. I can't wait to see them & my granddog, Tilley. I'll post some pics of our adventures this weekend.

Yeah, I'm taking tomorrow off, so I have a 4 day weekend. It's going to be great. My DH leaves for Alaska on Sat morning, and Bean & Justin have to head back on Sat too. So I'll have 2 days to just play in my craft & sewing rooms. It's going to be great. A friend my come over to crop on Sun which will be fun too.

I got recruited to help with the next VSN over on SCS for Jan & Feb. That should be a lot of fun. There will be 4 of us "coordinators" and this will be my first time. I hope I can get it all figured out. The theme is the Olympics, and I can just think of so many different things that we can use for the challenges. Make sure you check it out here: http://www.splitcoaststampers.com/forums/forumdisplay.php?f=54 (my link isn't working so you'll have to copy & paste the link....sorry)

Going to head upstairs to work on some cards. I need to make a special sympathy card.

Pretty in Pink Birthday

Here's a pink birthday card that I created over the weekend. I just love pink ANYTHING!!! It's my very favorite color. And I like it with the Kiwi Kiss too.

Stamps: Birthday Whimsy, Petite Patterns
Ink: Kiwi Kiss, Pixie Pink
Paper: Kiwi Kiss, pink pirouette, Pixie Pink
Misc: MS punch, nesties, pearls

I think I'm going to head upstairs for a little while & see what I can create before DH comes home from work.

Owl Birthday

Isn't this owl the cutest little thing? It's from the stamping cartridge for the Cricut machine. I made 4 of them yesterday, and have already used 2 of them. However, the colors didn't come out in this picture. The brown is close to cocoa, but it came out a little grey.

Stamps: Boho Backgrounds, clear acrylic stamp (sentiment)
Ink: So Saffron, Kiwi Kiss
Paper: So Saffron, Kiwi Kiss, Close to Cocoa
Misc: EK Success corner punch, SU Scallop border punch, Cricut Stamping cartridge

Allanna & her husband Justin are coming up for New Year's. They'll be here Wed night & I can hardly wait. We haven't seen them in 6 mos and she's the closest thing we have to a child. And they're bringing our grand dog, Tilley. Can't wait. I'm taking Thurs off, and we'll go downtown to do the tourist thing in DC. Or maybe we'll go up to Baltimore to the aquarium, not sure yet.

Not much else going on tonight.

Garden Hat, SCDU11

This is my take on Diane's Wednesday "hump day" challenge #11 found here http://uselesscrafts.blogspot.com/2009/12/hump-day-inspiration-10.html
I check out Diane's blog almost daily. She is really talented, and is the person who taught me how to color with prismas & baby oils. She has a great tutorial on it.
Stamps: Garden From the Heart
Paper: Cottage Wall DSP, Whisper White, Rich Razzleberry, Old Olive
Ink: Black Staz-On
Misc: Rich Razzleberry, So Saffron & Rich Razzleberry SU Markers, brads, nesties, pop dots
I hope everyone had as great a Christmas as I did. My DH simply out did himself this year!!!! I got a Cricut expressions machine, a juke box to go with it, loads of cartridges, extra cutting mats, 12x24 cutting mats, & stencil material! Plus I got a Droid smart phone that I can't figure out how to use yet!!! The damn phone is smarter than I am! LOL Additionally, DH gave me a photo light box to help me photograph my pics that I post, plus he MADE me a wall organizer with lots of cubby holes and places for my ribbon too!!!! Am I spoiled or what???????????
We took down the tree yesterday and finished taking down the rest of the decorations today. Boy, what a chore! However, we had to because DH is going to Alaska & leaves next Saturday. If we didn't do it this weekend, it would be mid Jan, and our tree was starting to see it's best days.
Guess that's about it for now. More later.

A Christmas Thank You

This is the card I'm using for my Christmas thank you notes. It uses the SU Patterened Pines stamp, along with MS snow flake corner punch, and a snow flake punch from a company that is now out of business called emaginations.
I hope everyone is ready for Christmas as tomorrow is the last shopping day!
Merry Christmas everyone.

Happy Birthday

This card was so much fun to create. I think I'm going to do a few more to have on hand for Jan & Feb. I think one of the stamp sets is called So Many Scallops, but I'm not sure. The other stamp set (cake) may be Bitty Birthday. The colors are old olive, night of navy & so saffron. I think these colors are so pretty together!!!

Winnie is feeling so much better, but still is having issues with all the snow. She doesn't understand why there isn't any grass for her to "go" on.

I am so ready for Christmas. All my gifts are wrapped & waiting to be placed under the tree. Our tradition is to place the gifts under the tree on Chrristmas Eve before I go to bed. It is really neat to wake up the next morning & find all the gifts just begging to be opened.

Hope ya'll are having a great week, and getting ready for ole St Nick to come to visit.

Challenges

I just love this new stamp set from SU! It's available 5 January in the new Occasions Mini catalog.

This is the butterfly stamp from the Dreams du Jour stamp set that's been around for a while.

Winnie on the porch this morning, watching her daddy shovel the 20+ inches of snow that we got yesterday. YIKES!

Our house in all the snow. It's very pretty, but you can't do anything with 20" of snow! We're still amazed at the amount we got.
Winnie has been sick, and I had to take her to the doctor on Friday. She got special food, and medicine She is doing much much better now. Poor little thing.
I picked up her pictures with Santa, so I'll have to try to post on of the pictures.
Hope everyone is warm and snuggly on this cold Sunday afternoon.

Get Well Wild Rose

The wild rose stamp set is one of my favorites from SU!, but I haven't used it as much as I should. On the inside of the card it says "Wishing you a speedy recovery".

Stamps: Wild Rose
Ink: Pixie Pink, Pretty in Pink, Always Artichoke, Mellow Moss
Paper: Raspberry Tart DSP, Kiwi Kiss, Pretty in Pink
Misc: SU ticket corner punch; MS scallop punch

The open house was a lot of fun, and we had almost 50 people show up! Everyone seemed to really enjoy themselves. The last person left at 11:15, and we finished cleaning up around 1am. Boy, was I tired!!!!

Winnie was a complete angel last night. I was very worried with all those people in the house how she was going to react. But other than barking every time the door bell rang, she really was good. She knew some of the people that came and got excited when they arrived. It was really cute!

I hope everyone had a relaxing and/or productive weekend. I finished wrapping all of DHs gifts. And I got some others wrapped also. Still have a few to go.

Hoping everyone has a fantastic week.

These colors were from a color challenge over on SCS to use Very Vanilla, Basic Black & Soft Suede. This is what I came up with.

Stamps: Dasher
Ink: Soft Suede
Paper: Cocoa Specialty DSP, basic black, soft suede
Misc: Top Note die, nesties, dazzling diamonds

You can't tell it in the photo, but Dashers antlers are really sparkly IRL.

Invite 4

Here's the last invitation for our open house. I really liked this hostess stamp set, it's called Patterned Pines. The DSP is Merry Moments, and I used real red & garden green card stock. The ink is garden green.
Hope everyone has a happy Friday!

Noel

This is a Christmas card I made over the weekend. It's an old stamp that I've had for a very long time. I don't even know who made it or anything. You can't tell in the photo, but I put gold stickles in the middle of the poinsettias, and frosty stickles on the mistletoe. The crocheted flower is from my good stamping buddy, Carol in GA. She sent me a whole bag of them!!!! And told me when I run out to tell her & she'll send me more!!!! What a GREAT FRIEND! I put a poinsettia button in the middle of the flower. The red snowflakes are "leftovers" from my MS snowflake border punch. However, I just realized that one of them feel off (oh well, what can I say???? LOL)

Invite #3

Here's the 3rd invitation I came up with for the open house. Everyone has commented on the invitations, and it really makes me feel good.
I've been working on the grocery list tonight. Wow, I'm getting excited.
My dear MIL commented today that she needed to check out my blog to see if I had posted any of her Christmas presents. (Inside joke, I made all of her Mother's Day gifts last year and posted them on my blog before Mother's Day. I forgot that she was a regular follower!!!) Yeah, jokes on me.......
Anyway, hope everyone is having a great week.

2nd Invitation

This is the 2nd invitation I came up with. Don't you just love the Dasher stamp? It's one of my favorites.
The DSP is the Christmas Cocoa specialty paper. I just love that DSP pack. I ordered 3 packs so that I won't run out for a while. I used Real Red & Soft Suede inks.
We ended up getting an inch or so of snow. It didn't stick on the streets, so it really wasn't a big deal, but it was very pretty. Winnie wasn't real sure about it all however,

1st Invitation

Here is the first invitation I came up with for our Holiday Open House. It's next Saturday night, and I'm getting a little nervous. We could have 50+ people, and that's a lot of people to take care of! My good friend Olga is coming to spend the weekend with me to help out. I'm taking Friday off, and we're going to go buy the food and start the preparations.
The second picture is Winnie & her brother, Geordi. He's in the dog bed, and she's laying on top of the cat bed. They are so funny. She was harrassing him this morining, so he jumped up on the ottoman and slapped her. It didn't even phase her!
It's snowing here, and it's really very pretty. It wasn't suppose to start snowing til later this evening, but it's been snowing since mid-morning. Damon took some pictures of the house, so I'll post a couple of them tomorrow.
Sorry it's been so long since I posted, but this week and last week were really really busy for me.
Hope everyone is having a great weekend.

Christmas Pooch

I found this stamp in the $ bin @ Ms. I thought he was soooooo cute, and looks so ready for Christmas. We have antlers for Winnie for Christmas, so I'll have to take a picute & post it for everyone to see how cute she looks as a reindeer.
Speaking of reindeers, my MIL & I feed some while we were in Alaska back in the summer. They are so sweet.
And speaking of Alaska, DH & I have another Alaska cruise scheduled for the first 2 weeks of May. I am already getting excited!
Here's the deets on the card:
Paper: Whisper White & Christmas DSP
Ink: Garden Green & Black Staz-On
Misc: Prismas, SU garden green & real red markers, SU Oval & scalloped oval punch
Have a great week.

This is my entry for MMSC 28 over on Priscilla's blog here: http://priscillastyles.blogspot.com/2009/11/midnight-madness-week-28-mmsc28.html
I used mostly Stampin' Up items this week.
Stamps: Holiday Blocks
Paper: Old Olive, Real Red, Merry Moments DSP
Ink: Old Olive & Real Red
Misc: brads, clear snow flake, corner punch
I still haven't come up with a card for my invitations. Going back upstairs to work on it some more.

Birdie Thank You

I really enjoyed making this card. I used the SU In-Colors along with Always Artichoke. The colors just coordinate so beautifully. I think this just epitomizes fall. The colors, the pheasant, everything.
It was a very busy week as I said last night. I love it when I'm busy at work, because the days just fly by, and then it's the weekend. I hope to spend the entire weekend in my craft room.
I need to make at least 35 Christmas open house invitations this weekend. I have no real ideas on what I want to do, although I am thinking about snow men........maybe. I wish I had some ideas, but none are really coming to me. But, we'll see what I come up with. So, I'm off to SCS to see what inspires me over there.
I hope everyone has a wonderful weekend! More to come.

Rooster Birthday

The photo really doesn't do justice to this card. The rooster is stamped in elegant eggplant, but appears to be washed out. The colors are very vibrant IRL. I used my nesties to cut out the whisper white & the elegant eggplant behind the rooster. The DSP has a lot of fall colors and is really pretty IRL. I can't remember the name of it.

It's been a busy week at work, but tomorrow is Friday, so that's great!

MMSC 27

This is the card I made for the midnight madness challenge over on Priscilla's blog here: http://priscillastyles.blogspot.com/2009/11/midnight-madness-week-27-mmsc27.html. The card is very sparkly IRL--the layers are as follows:

real read
Anna Griffith holly background
gold metalic paper that I ran through my Sizzix using the SU embossing folder

There is no stamping on this card (except the inside sentiment!) Yes, no stamping for Patty on this card. The images are rub-ons from M's. The holly & stocking are popped up, and the buttons are rubbed directly onto the paper. (The holly & stocking with the cute little mouse was rubbed onto white CS, then cut out & popped up w/pop dots).

The white poinsettia is outlined with gold stickles. I may go back & add gold beads to the center over the gold brad. The holly & stocking are also sparkly IRL!

I had such a great time making this card. I hope you like it.

Fall Birthday

Happy Sunday everyone. Sorry I haven't posted in so long. It was a busy week.
We went to the Navy vs Univ of Delaware game yesterday. We went to a tail gate party before the game. I had never been tailgating before, and it was a lot of fun!!!! The host was an academy graduate, and everyone had a great time. And yes, my husband is Army, but they welcomed us with open arms anyway. LOL
My card today is one I made a month or so ago. The colors didn't come out very well, but they're yo yo yellow, garden green & elegant eggplant. The eggplant always looks allmost black in my photos.
Finally, Stampin' Up is going to offer their stamps without the wood!!! Yeah, and they're going to be cheaper too! I'm soooooooooo looking forward to the new stamps!
I hope everyone is having a great weekend.

digi kitty thank you

Another digi image that I don't remember where I got it. I used my Bics "Mark Its" to color this image as I don't have Copics. I prefer my prismas & baby oil still.

I hope everyone is having a wonderful weekend.

Get Well

I love the colors of this card. I made 2 of these cards to have on hand. I love blue & grey together.
I must stop and pray for the soldiers that we lost in the Fort Hood shooting. We have a house right outside of Fort Hood and were stationed there for a total of 10 years. Damon worked for the current commander of Fort Hood, and I just pray that all will be okay there. Please honor all of our military in uniform, and say a special prayer for them.

Flower Soft Digi Kitty

Happy Wednesday everyone! Yeah, the week is more than half through, even though I do have to work for a little while this Saturday.

My card today was a lot of fun. It's a digital image that I colored with prismas and baby oil. I then added flower soft for the flowers rather than coloring them in. The background flourishes are some acrylic stamps that I found I had bought some time ago. The yellow is SU yo yo yellow, and the blue is SU brilliant blue.

It has turned a little cool here. I love fall and cool weather. It's my favorite time of the year. The leaves have turned all colors, and it's really beautiful here.

I hope everyone is having a great week.

Thanks so much for stopping by!

Elegant Thank You

These cards were really fast & fun to make. For some reason I'm stuck on purple again, and these just came together for me. I needed more thank you notes for work, so I made 4 of each.
I can't remember all the deets for these cards. The Thank You is Elegant Thank You by Stampin' Up. The DSP is SU too. The Old Olive is embossed w/a Fiskars embossing plate using my Sizzix big shot. I also used ribbon on one of the cards.
It is so good to be back blogging again, and finally feeling like we are settling into our new home.
Hope everyone had a great Monday!

2 Birthday Cards

Here are 2 birthday cards I made for use at work. The DSP is from a Debbie Mumm stack that I got at JoAnn's. The pink card's background is Pretty in Pink & the yellow is So Saffron. The inks are pretty in pink & rose red; so saffron & yo yo yellow.
I got a lot of stamping done yesterday afternoon, so I hope to take the pictures today. I played the Midnight Madness challenge, so I might post that later today, so make sure you check back.

Candles and a card

These are some candles I made for a co-worker for her birthday. They were quick & easy, and I like the way they came out. I found candles on sale for $1 each at Michaels a couple of months ago. So I bought a bunch of them to decorate & have on hand for just such an occasion. I used some DSP by Debbie Mumm from a stack I got at Jo Ann's, and Martha Stewart punches for the butterflies. I put 1/2 pearls on the butterflies to decorate them. The "ribbon" is actually paper ribbon I bought from HSN.
The card goes along with the bag that I posted on Thursday. Just thought you might like to see it too. The purple (SU Elegant Eggplant) looks black in the picture. I tried different lighting sources, etc, but it always photographs as black for some reason.
I finally took pics & edited a number of cards, so I'm ready to post on a regular basis now. So check back tomorrow to see what Winnie & I have in store for you.
Speaking of Winnie, she really had some adjustment issues with the new house. She was really suffering from separation anxiety, and I even had to take her to the doctor. They put her on some meds, but really the only thing that helped was time. She would bark and carry on when I left her in the mornings. Now she is doing much much better.
Until tomorrow, happy stamping!

Bear gift bag

This is the gift bag I made to hold the candle & journal I made for our new next door neightbor as a thank you gift for the wonderful home made German Chocolate cake she made for us to welcome us to the neighborhood. It was delicious!!!! I almost licked the plate. It was so thoughtful of her to make us a cake!

Sorry I've been away for so long. Just trying to get settled into the new house has been a real challenge in a lot of ways. And my craft room is still not fully unpacked.

Thanks for looking and I hope to be back tomorow or Friday at the latest!

Christmas 1

I bought a Hot off the Press kit a couple of years ago. It has all kinds of DSP, cut outs, ribbon, brads, etc, so I got it out and started making Christmas cards. I even used some of the paper to line the envies! This is really getting me in the mood for Christmas!!!

Hope everyone is having a great week. Winnie goes to the groomer today, so she will be beautiful when I pick her up this evening.

Have a great day!

This is my interpretation of the MMSC18 challenge. As always it was so much fun! Here's Priscilla's blog. I encourage you to check it out! http://www.priscillastyles.blogspot.com/
I will only be posting sporadically for the next few weeks. I am starting to pack up/organize my craft room in anticcipation of our big move coming up the first few days of Oct. 3 of my 4 paper organizers came today (the 12x12 ones) and I'm so excited. DH build me one, but decided it was just as cheap to order them on-line. The ones I bought were white wire, similar to what you see in the stores. My new craft room is going to be so wonderful. I'll have to post pics after we get settled!

Calendars and Pads

I found these pads/calendars at Michaels. So I bought 25 of them. I thought I might make them & give them to the girls at the office as part of their holiday gifts, and give to some friends of mine as little "just because". These were really fun to do.
Hope everyone is having a great week. Tomorrow is Friday, which means PIZZA NIGHT at the Penn household. YEAH!
